PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe bending apparatus which is provided with a stretch bending (draw bending) function and a compressive bending (compression bending) function and which can conduct the total process of bending by itself. SOLUTION: The pipe bending apparatus is provided with: a moving or fixed pipe bending unit which is movable in the longitudinal direction of a pipe to be worked and in which bending is performed by rotating the pipe to be worked at a prescribed angle while pressing the pipe to be worked against the circumferential surface of a bending die; and a pipe twisting unit which is freely rotatable around the center of the pipe to be worked by a prescribed angle. The pipe bending unit is characterized in that it is provided with either one or both of the stretch bending function and the compressive bending function of the pipe to be worked, and that, by installing the pipe bending unit rotatably in a vertical plane around the axis parallel to the center of the pipe to be worked, a deflection quantity during the twisting operation of the pipe to be worked can be reduced.
