PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants type disposable diaper which can be prevented well from leaking urine from around legs, while preventing legs from being excessively fastened and which allows a baby to easily wear the diaper by inserting baby's legs into leg opening parts when wearing the diaper. SOLUTION: This pants type disposable diaper is equipped with a liquid retainable absorptive body, has an abdominal side part A, a crotch part C, and a back side part B, and is formed of a waist opening part and a pair of leg opening parts. A ratio (L1/L2) between the minimum value L1 of the crotch width and a distance L2 in the longitudinal direction from a point P on an opening edge part 82 where the crotch width becomes the minimum to the end point Q of the abdominal side part A side of the opening edge part 28 is 1.7-2.2.
