PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discrimination method of shapes of a corneal cell without staining which is a means to detect a characteristic value of the corneal cell which can not be found by a conventional discrimination method of the shapes by staining or the conventional non-staining shape discrimination method. SOLUTION: The method to discriminate or measure the shape of the corneal cell of the skin is that (1) a transparent carrier coated with an adhesive agent is pressed on the skin for exfoliation to pick the corneal cell from the skin, (2) the corneal cell is observed or measured without staining using an enlargement means from the surface which is not applied with the adhesive agent, (3) the corneal cell is observed or measured without staining using an enlargement means from the surface which is coated with the adhesive agent, and (4) the corneal cell is discriminated using the difference of the results of the observations or the measurements of (2) and (3) as an index.
