<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source device of high brightness free from the scatter of brightness, capable of operating in a low voltage, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A wiring board 11 is arranged along the end face 3c of a light guide plate 3, and a light source group 10a composed of plurality of point light sources 10 arrayed in a row in an X-direction parallel with the long side 3d of the end face 3c of the light guide plate is mounted on the upper mounting face 11a of the wiring board 11. Terminals functioning as power input parts are arranged at both ends 11c, 11d of the wiring board 11 located on a line extending in the direction of the array of respective point light sources, and supplies currents to the plurality of point light sources 10 constituting the light source group 10a from both sides thereof. By this, the effect of a voltage drop with respect to the plurality of point light sources 10 due to wiring resistance is eliminated, and the planar light source device 20 and a liquid crystal display device 1 with high brightness, free from the scatter of brightness, capable of operating in a low voltage, can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
