IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus or the like for surely deleting image data of a delete object and preventing the data from being left in a restorable state even when a power failure takes place or power is carelessly interrupted or management information is missing before or during deleting the image data of the delete object.

SOLUTION: A first storage means 7 stores image data. A second storage means 9 stores management information as to the image data stored in the first storage means 7. A control means 12 deletes the image data of the delete object existing in the first storage means 7 in an undeleted state in a restoration disabled way on the basis of the management information at application of power. Thus, when it is discriminated that the image data of the delete object are stored in the first storage means 7 in an undeleted state on the basis of the management information at application of power, since the image data are deleted by the control means, a defect that the image data of the delete object are left in a restorable state can be prevented.
