摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a random number generating circuit having reduced periodicity with a simple configuration in a digital OB clamp circuit utilizing error diffusion, and to provide an error diffusion digital clamp circuit with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The least significant bit of a digital image signal to be clamped is converted into a parallel signal having the same number of bits as a numeral value lower than a decimal point in a clamp level with a determined rule, and the converted signal is used as random numbers. Also, the least significant bit of the image signal is sequentially delayed by the number of stages equal to or more than the number of bits of a numeral value lower than a decimal point in a clamp level at a reference clock of the image signal, and one obtained by taking the least significant bit of the same number of the number of bits of the numeral value lower than a decimal point from each output of the delay element is used as random numbers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
