<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus wherein the power consumption of a heater is minimized to prevent blurred images by such a configuration that load torque applied to a motor in order to rotationally operate a photoreceptor is detected to determine whether the heater should be operated or not. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus on which a heater 8 for controlling the surface temperature of a photoreceptor 1 is mounted is provided with a photoreceptor heater control means 28 which determined whether the heater should be operated or not by load torque detection means 21 and 22 for detecting load torque which is applied to a photoreceptor driving motor 13 in order to rotationally operate the photoreceptor 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
