<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device capable of precisely storing and reading data, continuously counted up or counted down to a backup memroy for data storage. <P>SOLUTION: The data storage device comprises a volatile memory 3 for storing a value continuously counted up or counted down as the value to be stored; a backup memory 5 for writing the value to be stored; and a data processing part 2 for controlling writing by byte units and reading of data between the volatile memory 3 and the backup memory. The backup memory 5 comprises areas 51 and 52 for storing the value to be stored in terms of bytes, and a previous value area 53 for storing the value of the byte position which is next to lowest byte in the previous value of the value to be stored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
