<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which visibility is ensured and a bright reflective display is obtained while suppressing screen glare even if a pixel area is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device which is provided with a first substrate 10 having a reflection surface 14a, with an irregular shape constructed by aligning dot patterns p1, p2 with taper shaped side walls, a second substrate 20 placed on the reflection surface 14a side of the first substrate 10 opposite thereto and a liquid crystal layer 30 interposed between them and which has a reflective display part to display a picture by diffusing external light incident from the second substrate 20 side on the reflection surface 14a, the irregular shape is constructed with the first dot pattern p1 and the second dot pattern p2 having two-dimensional shapes with lengths in the vertical direction nearly equal to each other and with lengths in the horizontal direction different from each other in a range equal to or longer than the lengths in the vertical direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
