<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of correcting the displacement of image data caused by the shifting of LED heads in a sub-scanning direction by arranging a plurality of LED heads in a main-scanning direction with staggered positioning in the sub-scanning direction, even in the case of image formation with fine size-adjustment by shifting the intervals of main scanning line synchronizing signals. <P>SOLUTION: If no size-adjustment is selected (S11;N), the normal delay in the sub-scanning direction in an amount converted into the number of lines in the main scanning direction corresponding to the distance for the LED head to be shifted in the sub-scanning direction is set in a line memory (S12, 13). If a fine size-adjustment is performed (S11;Y), the sum of the delay amount for the fine size-adjustment in the sub-scanning direction computed in response to the ratio of fine size-adjustment designated by the user and the normal delay in the sub-scanning direction is set in the line memory (S14-S17). The delay in the sub-scanning direction for fine size-adjustment is caused by shifting of the intervals of line synchronizing signals. An image is formed with fine size-adjustment without displacement since image data is written onto the LED head when line synchronizing signals are outputted in an amount equal to the line memory value set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
