PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging method which enables the formation of an electrostatic latent image stably in a latent image carrier for a long time by injecting electric charge, and an imaging device capable of forming a highly precise image. SOLUTION: In this imaging method, a nip part PC is formed by bringing a writing unit 3 into contact with the latent image carrier 2 traveling in the arrow P direction and the electrostatic latent image is formed in the latent image carrier 2 in such a state that a liquid W is interposed in the nip part PC. Consequently, it is possible to stably form the electrostatic latent image in the latent image carrier 2, compared with the case in which the liquid W is not interposed. In addition, the wear likely to occur between a writing electrode 311 and an independent floating electrode 21 due to their mutual sliding action can be inhibited by the lubrication effect of the liquid W. Thus the deterioration of formation precision of the electrostatic latent image in the latent image carrier 2 due to the wear of the floating electrode 21 and the writing electrode 311 can be prevented from occurring, so that the stable and long-term formation of the latent image on the surface of the latent image carrier 2 can be achieved.
