PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the contour with taking account of noise components contained an input signal. SOLUTION: The contour corrector circuit comprises a first delay unit for delaying an input signal S1 to generate a signal S2, a first subtractor for generating a signal S4, a second delay unit for generating a signal S3, a second subtractor for generating a signal S5, a first adder for generating a signal S6, a correcting-discriminating signal generator for generating a correcting-discriminating signal S7 after removing noise components contained in the input signal S1, a first arithmetic unit for executing a specified arithmetic process based on the signal S7 to output an amplitude-constant signal, the signal S4 or the signal S5, a second arithmetic unit for executing a specified arithmetic process, based on the signal S6, a third arithmetic unit for outputting a signal S8 for correcting to maximize the inclination of the contour of the signal or taking and outputting a minimum value from the signal S8 and a polarity-inverted signal S9 for other than the above, and a third subtractor for subtracting a signal S10 outputted from the third arithmetic unit from the signal S2.
