PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a picked up image displayed on the display screen is not blocked by an optical accessory and a battery or the like independently of a photographing style, the presence/absence of mounting of the optical accessory and the battery to the imaging apparatus, and the type and size of the mounted optical accessory and battery. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging apparatus main body 1 including therein an imaging section 102; a display section 6 located turnably in the imaging apparatus main body 1 and provided with a display screen 6s for displaying an image 5 picked up with the imaging section 102; an angle detection section 108 for detecting the turning angle of the display screen 6s; and a display signal processing section 109 for automatically calculating the reduction factor when the picked up image 5 is reduced and displayed on the display screen 6s on the basis of the result of the angle detection and the display position of the picked up image within the display screen.
