PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain fixing temperature at the time of standby while dissolving faults such as noise and wear of components at the time of standby for fixation. SOLUTION: Length of width (heater lamp heating width) which becomes equal to or more than predetermined reference temperature with width of a fixing roller in the axis direction on the surface of the fixing roller by heating of a heater lamp is longer than length of the width (maximum paper feed width) of a medium with the maximum width of the fixing roller in the axis direction among media used for the fixing device. In addition, it is shorter than length of width (electromagnetic induction heating width) which becomes equal to or more than the reference temperature with width of the fixing roller in the axis direction on the surface of the fixing roller by heating of an induction heating apparatus.
