STENT WHICH IS FLEXIBLE IN LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intravascular stent which is particularly suitable to be embedded in a curved section of the artery.

SOLUTION: The stent maintains its flexibility in a longitudinal direction after it is expanded. The stent is formed in a tangled meandering pattern which forms triangle cells. The triangle cells are so constituted as to provide a support in a radial direction and provide the flexibility in the longitudinal direction after the expansion. The triangle cells increase the coverage of a tube wall. The stent can include various parts which are constituted to optimize the support in the radial direction or to optimize the flexibility in the longitudinal direction. The stent can be constituted to prevent a part of the stent to flare out during the insertion.
