<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an external device to know that a value resulting from addition or subtraction at a portabale electronic device has reached an upper or lower limit value. <P>SOLUTION: When a command for adding or subtracting a specific value to or from a value in the memory of the portable electronic device is inputted and if the value resulting from the addition or subtraction exceeds an upper or lower limit value, the device outputs error information without performing an addition or subtraction process. If the value resulting from the addition or subtraction exceeds either a value (upper limit warning value) that is smaller than the upper limit value by a certain value or a value (lower limit warning value) that is greater than the lower limit value by a certain value, the addition or subtraction process is performed and warning information is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
