<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone type separator capable of achieving satisfactory separation performance regardless of spacial attitude. <P>SOLUTION: The cyclone type separator (14) applied for a suction means (4) of a hand-held type tool device (2) is provided with an air inlet (12) for introducing air contaminated with particles (P) removed from a material to be processed in the use of the tool device (2) and sucked from a suction opening (8) by a suction blower (38), an air outlet (28) for discharging the cleaned air and a swirl chamber (16) connected between the air inlet (12) and the air outlet (28).
