<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal point adjusting method capable of presenting a user with a focal point adjusting amount adaptable to the process conditions at an image forming section such that it can be visually confirmed easily, and to provide an image forming apparatus employing that method. <P>SOLUTION: According to the processing content of focal point adjustment of an LED head 1 and the image forming conditions at the time of focal point adjustment, a pattern image being used for forming a focal point adjusting image is selected from a plurality of prestored pattern images. According to the processing content of focal point adjustment and the image forming conditions at the time of focal point adjustment, layout of a focal point adjusting image consisting of a selected pattern image is determined. With regard to a focal point adjusting image being formed based on the layout thus determined, image formation processing is performed and a correction amount being applied to focal point adjustment of the LED head 1 is determined from a focal point adjusting image subjected to image formation processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
