TRAFFIC CONTRACT PARAMETER ESTIMATION IN ATM NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method with which a polishing operation can be carried out even without inputting a contract parameter in traffic control in an ATM network.

SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for estimating a traffic contract parameter in an ATM network. The method includes steps for: generating data for ATM cell packet arrival times of a number of cells received for a predetermined period of time; determining an SCR parameter; determining a PCR parameter; generating PCR leaky bucket data and SCR leaky bucket data; determining a CDVT parameter utilizing the PCR leaky bucket data; and determining MBS parameter utilizing the SCR leaky bucket data.
