<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire tread capable of increasing the flow of the water passing through grooves by improving the water stream in the groove. <P>SOLUTION: The tire tread is furnished with a plurality of grooves 14, each having a bottom part to define the groove depth from the tread surface and side walls 16 and 18 confronting each other, wherein the center line CL of the groove 14 is located in an equal distance from the confronting side walls 16 and 18. The groove 14 may stretch either in the circumferential direction of the tread or in the transverse direction. At least one groove 14 is furnished with a plurality of projections 22 provided on the bottom of the groove 14 at a certain spacing from one another. The projection 22 extends from one side wall 16 to the confronting side wall 18 and is inclined to the groove center line CL at an angleαof 10-50°.
