PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric bulb capable of preventing generation of a chip or a minute crack of a glass bead as much as possible, and of improving a yield and having excellent reliability: and to provide a manufacturing method of the electric bulb. SOLUTION: In this electric bulb, a pair of lead-in wires 14a and 14b for suspending a filament 16 are held separately from each other by heating and melting the bead 15 made of glass. The electric bulb is so structured as to prevent a bead surface at contact parts between the outside surface of the bead 15 and the lead-in wires 14a and 14b from rising toward the lead-in wires in heating the bead 15.
