PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor capable of effectively using a page memory and processing image data regardless of a smaller and less expensive configuration than that of apparatuses of prior arts. SOLUTION: In the image processing method for writing image data of a black and white image or a color image by one page two-dimensionally expanded in the memory, the image processor decides whether the image data are black and white image data or color image data, and uses memory areas used by one pixel of the image data being the color image data for memory areas by a plurality of pixels of the black and white image data when the image data are decided to be the black and white image data.
