PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device with a relatively simple structure capable of securely preventing leakage of lubricating oil into inside of a motor chamber, in a motor integrated compressor. SOLUTION: On a drive shaft 14 of the motor integrated fuel gas compressor, a plurality of shaft seal devices 33a, 33c are provided in a motor 4 side of a bearing 16 supporting the drive shaft 14. A gapδis formed between the outer periphery of the drive shaft 14 and the inner periphery of a shaft hole between the shaft seal devices 33a, 33c, and a communication passage 34 for communicating a lower part of the gapδwith a space outside a compressor main body 2 is provided. An air passage 38 for communicating an upper part of the gapδwith a space where relatively high-pressure air or inert gas exists with respect to the space with which the communication passage 34 is communicated is provided.
