PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forcibly pull a sliding door for partitioning to a storage part by closely moving the sliding door of a room to near the storage part, satisfactorily complete pulling operation by properly decelerating the speed thereof immediately before the end of the movement thereof, and smoothen the operation of the sliding door for partitioning in starting the movement. SOLUTION: This sliding door device comprises a casing A and a sliding door 18 for partitioning. A hook member 2 is rotatably fitted to a sliding member 1 sliding in a proper area. The sliding member 1 is energized through an elastic member 3 and a damping member 4 reducing the elastic force of the elastic member 3 is installed in the casing A. The sliding door is so formed that a guide rail 17 mounted on a ceiling 30 is movable through a guide traveling body B.
