PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease an initial peak load without deteriorating a shock absorbing performance of a shock absorbing member used for a vehicle bumper, etc. SOLUTION: A shock front wall 1 and a shock rear wall 2 are arranged at an interval so as to face to each other. Outside walls 3, 4 are connected between both end parts of the shock front wall 1 and both end parts of the shock rear wall 2 to constitute a hollow structure. An inside wall 5 is independently placed between the outside walls 3, 4. The inside wall 5 is connected to the shock front wall 1 and the shock rear wall 2 along the shock-expected direction. A body 5c between the both connected parts 5a, 5b is relatively deviated from the connected parts to one side. This constitution lowers an initial load peak value to prevent transmitting a large load to other members, etc., continuing to the shock absorbing member.
