PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorber excellent in energy absorbing efficiency and capable of reducing manufacturing cost and reducing weight of itself. SOLUTION: This energy absorber 10 has an energy absorbing body 20 to absorb impact energy and an outer shell body 30 having a hollow part 35 in which the energy absorbing body 20 is arranged. The energy absorbing body 20 has a space part 21 to extend along the longitudinal direction LD of the outer shell body 30, and an aspect ratio of a cross-section shape of the space part 21 and an aspect ratio of a cross-section shape of the outer shell body 30 are roughly the same with respect to the sectional direction CD intersecting perpendicularly with the longitudinal direction LD of the outer shell body 30.
