<p>The lock cylinders and keys have each lock cylinder associated with a number of further lock cylinders, each of the lock cylinders operated by a key according to a given access hierarchy, the cross-sections of the key channels (8) provided in the cores (9) of the lock cylinders and the cross-sectional profiles of the corresponding keys forming to a defined profile series of the manufacturer. The profile series is expanded by providing at least one sub-combination of key channel cross-sections and key cross-sectional profiles, the keys of the sub-combination fitting into the key channels of the corresponding profile series, but the keys of the profile series not fitting into the key channels of the sub-combination. An independent claim for a method for manufacture of a key for operation of an existing lock cylinder is also included.</p> |
