A cleaning sponge made of water-absorbent material comprises a holding part on the upper side of an elongate wiping part. A baseplate comprising an elongate metal body of U-shaped cross-section grips the holding part of the sponge via a serrated edge. The baseplate has an upper side on which a mounting plate is attached to enable simple assembly and replacement of the cleaning head.
