<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a write-in and read-out method of a removable recording medium wherein write-in and read-out are made possible with high density and at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: The recording medium has an optical recording layer which has a plurality of recording tracks wherein a plurality of recording cells containing an optical recording material are arranged in a track direction in a fixed cycle and a non-recording region separating the plurality of recording cells to each other and consisting of a non-recording material and wherein the recording cells of the recording tracks adjacent to each other are shifted in the track direction to be arranged in a fixed cycle and an optical super resolution layer which is formed on the optical recording layer and whose optical characteristics are non-linearly changed according to light intensity. In the write-in and read-out method, when recording write-in is performed, a step for changing the optical characteristics of one recording cell by irradiating the recording medium with a laser beam having the degree of intensity with which the optical characteristics of the recording cell are changed is repeated and when recording read-out is performed, recording information of two or more recording cells is simultaneously read-out by irradiating the recording medium with read-out light having the degree of intensity with which recording is not generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
