<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an engine high-pressure fuel pump for reducing consumption electric current, improving durability of the high-pressure fuel pump and facilitating fuel pressure to rise from the time of starting. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises a fuel injection valve for directly injecting fuel of a fuel accumulator into a combustion chamber and the high-pressure fuel pump for pumping fuel to the fuel accumulator, which has a compression chamber, a plunger for pressurizing fuel in the compression chamber, a fuel passing valve provided in the compression chamber and an actuator for operating the valve. It has a control means for controlling output of a drive signal of the actuator to vary a discharge rate of the high-pressure fuel pump. The control means starts the output of the actuator drive signal within a period from commencement of starting until the actuator drive signal is allowed to be output at a predetermined crank angle phase and sets timing for stopping the output of the actuator drive signal to be at the time when fuel pressure in the fuel accumulator rises beyond a predetermined value per unit time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
