<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform the control of a speed changing operation when the control of the speed changing operation of a transmission in a hybrid vehicle is performed on the basis of the rotational speed of a main shaft and a counter shaft. <P>SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle for controlling the speed changing ratio of the transmission T based on the output of a rotational speed sensor Sm of the main shaft and a rotational speed sensor Sc of the counter shaft, when abnormality has occurred in the rotational speed sensor Sc of the counter shaft, the speed changing operation of the transmission T is controlled by connecting a motor M to the counter shaft CS by engaging a clutch mechanism 56 and also by detecting the rotational speed of the counter shaft CS from the rotational speed of the motor M by means of a rotational speed sensor Smot of the motor.
