<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orientation method of a carbon nanotube which easily allows the carbon nanotube of an acicular material to orientate and raises a yield point. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of grooves 2 are formed on the surface of a substrate 1 ((A) in Fig.). The width w of an opening of the grooves 2 is formed so as to be larger than the diameter of the carbon nanotube 4, and shorter than the length of the carbon nanotube 4. The carbon nanotube 4 is dropped down into the groove 2 by sweeping with a squeegee 5 dispersed to paste 3 ((B) in Fig.). The residual carbon nanotube 4 on the groove surface 1a is scraped by the squeegee 5 and recycled ((C) in Fig.). An orientation unit 6 where the carbon nanotube is oriented in the longitudinal direction of the groove 2 is obtained by dropping down the carbon nanotube 4 in the groove 2 to copy the side wall 2a ((D) in Fig.). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
