PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress/prevent started traveling speed control from being released in a short time, when traveling speed control is started from a state that own vehicle traveling speed control is not carried out. SOLUTION: A target acceleration/deceleration in own vehicle traveling speed control is established, and a speed difference between an upper limit value or a lower limit value in a control target own-vehicle traveling speed area of the own vehicle traveling speed control and traveling speed of an own vehicle is divided by the target acceleration/deceleration to calculate traveling speed control releasing requiring time. Only when the traveling speed control releasing requiring time is not less than a threshold, the own vehicle traveling speed control is permitted, or indication of permission is carried out. When controlling the own vehicle traveling speed by following a preceding vehicle, control is made to be easily carried out in a high-speed area, thereby advancing automatic deceleration when catching up with the preceding vehicle.
