PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a double-sided printing unit without unnecessarily occupying space in the back or sides of an apparatus and to easily detach the double-sided printing unit. SOLUTION: The double-side printing unit 30 has the same size as a paper feed cassette 22 in a flat shape. A paper feed cassette storage section 13 is defined below the main body 2 of a printer 1. The double-sided printing unit 30 can be mounted here, instead of the paper feed cassette 22. The paper feed cassette 22 and the double-sided printing unit 30 are connected to the main body 2 via a slide unit 60, and can be pulled out of the main body 2. A paper feeding device 20 that has a paper feed cassette 22 and has the same size as the main body 2 in a flat shape is disposed below the printer 1. The main body 2 has a detachable conveyance unit 40, which forms a paper conveyance path 44 for conveying paper P, passed through a fixing part 8, to the double-sided printing unit 30.
