PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality and color of a read image without increasing the size of an image scanner which emits light to a document and reads reflected light from the document as image data. SOLUTION: The copying/facsimile composite machine 100 comprises: a full-rate carriage 120 which has a light source 124 and a reflecting mirror 125 and is disposed on a chassis 13 so as to be movable; a scanner unit 122 which reads image data by converting reflecting light into image data; a scanner cover 17 which shields the scanner unit 122; an inverter circuit 19 which supplies power to the light source 124; and a flexible cable 190 which conducts the light source 124 and the inverter circuit 19. The inverter circuit 19 is disposed in the direction of one side of the scanner unit 122 and below the path of the flexible cable 190.
