PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air fuel ratio control system capable of preventing occurrence of misfire and engine stall by performing control with considering instability at a time of engine start and instability due to change of control style. SOLUTION: In an air fuel ratio control system controlling air fuel ratio of mixture based on measured value of the air fuel ratio sensor 50, fuel injection valve operation speed is delayed if air fuel ratio control is started within a predetermined period of time after the air fuel ratio sensor 50 becomes capable of measuring.
