PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing leather-like sheet material improved in abrasion resistance and also excellent in both of peel strength and flexibility. SOLUTION: The method for producing leather-like sheet material comprises applying adhesive on either a fibrous base material or a film layer, bonding the fibrous base material and the film layer, and drying the adhesive. The adhesive is a water type one, contains microcapsules thermally expanding at≥80°C, and is stable at lower temperature than that causing heat expansion of the microcapsules. Condition for drying comprises at least two processes of a preliminary drying process at a temperature where the adhesive is stable, and a main drying process at≥80°C. The method further comprises a bonding process of nipping the sheet material with a heat roller at 100-150°C after the main drying process. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
