PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary storage method for works through a single conveyer, capable of storing a maximum amount of works by making effective use of a conveyance surface space. SOLUTION: This storage method includes: a first process of detecting that a new work is placed on a conveyance surface corresponding to a work receiving area position of a conveyer under stopping by a work detection sensor; a second process of traveling the conveyance surface of the conveyer toward the side of an abutting plate disposed at one end of the conveyer, aligning the new work with a temporarily stored work being stored in the conveyance surface corresponding to a work temporary-storage area position of the conveyer without any clearance by inhibiting work movement with the abutting plate for minimum distance between the works, so as to bring them together as one work group, and a third process of traveling the conveyance surface of the conveyer in the opposite direction to the side of the abutting plate, positioning the work group consisting of the works brought together onto a conveyer surface corresponding to the work temporary-storage area position of the conveyer, and then stopping driving of the conveyer.
