PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member connecting structure wherein the fitting in an initial state can smoothly be performed when an armrest member of a chair is connected with a leg member, and in the meantime, the armrest member does not rattle in the lateral direction under a state wherein the connection has been completed. SOLUTION: This connecting structure is used for the armrest member 16 and the leg member 11 with which the armrest member 16 is connected. For the connecting structure, a protruding section 22 is provided on both sides in the longitudinal direction of the armrest member 16, and in the meantime, a receiving section 20 which is fitted on the protruding section 22 is provided on the upper end section of the leg member 11. For the protruding section 22, an initial fitting promoting section 30 is formed by a tapered slope on the distal end side. Also, the diameter of the protruding section 22 in the lateral direction is equipped with a connected posture stabilizing section 31 which comes into contact with the receiving section by a region being long in the vertical direction.
