<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional method for estimating the life of a fuel cell wherein it is hard to sufficiently predict deterioration which suddenly occurs since breakage of the electrolyte which may happen in a polymer fuel cell etc. is not taken into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: This life estimating device is provided with measuring means 19, 20 measuring the amount of fluoride ions in an emission matter form the fuel cell 15 supplied with fuel gas and oxidation gas containing oxygen for generating power by an electrochemical reaction, and a life estimation means 20 estimating the life of the fuel cell 15 according to the measured amount of fluoride ions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
