FIRE-HARDENED BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fire-hardened body by a simple production method in which the principal starting material is ash, which may be of any type or composition.

SOLUTION: The fire-hardened body is prepared by preparing a sample formed by mixing coal ash being unfired carbon-containing ash with 0.05 to 5 wt.%, based on the coal ash, boron oxide as a boron-containing boron compound and firing the sample at a firing temperature of 1,000°C for a firing time of 1 hr.
