PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for cutting an optical fiber with UV coating, permitting safe and exact conducting of optical fiber wiring in a house by the user himself so as to be ready toward a coming optical communication era, when the optical fiber laying up to a terminal, and to suppress burrs. SOLUTION: The cutting tool is provided with an edge part 16 for holding this optical fiber for communication consisting of a UV-coating, a primary coating, a clad, and a core at an arbitrary longitudinal position; a cutting part 24 for making a slight cut on the UV-coating and the primary coating, from a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber for communication held by the holding part; and a stress generating button 15 and a flat spring 13 for bending and stressing the optical fiber for communication provided with the cut by the edge part 24, cutting off this optical fiber for communication by a tensile force by the bending, and absorbing the pressure of the edge part 24 so that the cut does not go too excessively into this optical fiber held by the holding part 16, to give stress to the cut position.
