PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the density reduction of a developer image on an image carrier. SOLUTION: In the developing apparatus provided with a developing roller for carrying developer, an electrifying member in contact with the developing roller for negatively electrifying the developer, a supply roller for supplying the developer to the developing roller, a contact member coming in contact with the supply roller so that the supply roller may hold the developer, and for developing the latent image carried by the image carrier with the negatively electrified developer carried by the developing roller, the contact part coming in contact with the supply roller of the contact member is formed of metal.
