PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can generate a stable negative pressure inside an ink storage chamber. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge has the ink storage chamber 2 which stores an ink; an ink supply part 3 which supplies the ink from inside the ink storage chamber 2 to the outside; and a pressure regulation part 4 which regulates an internal pressure by making the ink storage chamber 2 communicate with an open air, which are formed in a container main body 1 shaped like a box. The pressure regulation part 4 is constituted of an open air communication hole 20 formed on the surface of the container main body 1; an air introduction tube 21 which guides the air along the peripheral edge part of the ink storage chamber 2 from the open air communication hole 20; and a pressure regulation chamber 23 which communicates with the air introduction tube 21 and the ink storage chamber 2 respectively. The pressure regulation chamber 23 has an internal movable diaphragm 25 which separates the air introduction tube 21 side from the ink storage chamber 2 side. The movable diaphragm 25 has a breathable part 25a which makes the air introduction tube 21 side communicate with the ink storage chamber 2 side and the breathable part 25a is urged to the air introduction tube 21 side by an elastic body 26.
