PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which enhances the precision of detection of a defect in a nozzle, using an impact force at the arrival of ink ejected from the nozzle. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer, which records an image on a recording medium by ejecting the ink from a plurality of nozzles arranged in an in-line manner, is equipped with: an ink droplet detection part 61 for detecting the arrival of an ink droplet, which is cylindrically formed by combining two piezoelectric elements with a semi-cylindrical shape, electrically isolated from each other, which makes the axial direction of a cylinder parallel to the direction of the in-line arrangement of the plurality of nozzles, which is elongated in a position to enable the arrival of the ink ejected from the plurality of nozzles, and which is provided in such a manner that turning can be circumferentially adjusted; and a cleaning part 62 which is provided in the state of being capable of coming into slide contact with the outer peripheral surface of the detection part 61.
