PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the entire length of a lens barrel in an accommodated state while making photographing power high. SOLUTION: The lens barrel includes: a first cam member (10) where a first cam part (10a) is formed such that a first holding member (7) which holds a first lens unit (1) is driven in an optical axis direction; and a second cam member (16) where a second cam part (16a) is formed such that the first cam member is driven in the optical axis direction. The first and second cam parts have shapes so that the first holding member is driven to draw a projecting locus becoming convex toward one side in the optical axis direction in the course of a whole area zoom operation from either one of telephoto-end or wide-end to the other. The lens barrel also includes a third cam member (17) where a third cam part (17a) is formed such that a second holding member which holds a second lens unit is driven in the optical axis direction.
