PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent jumping-out or deterioration of a valve element 8 caused by interposing and confining a part of a control objective fluid between a plunger 6 and the valve element 8. SOLUTION: A solenoid valve has the plunger 6 comprising a magnetic body reciprocating in an opening/closing direction to a valve seat 4 by magnetization and demagnetization of a magnetizing coil 1, and the valve element 8 made of rubbery elastic material, which is caulked and fixed, and separated from and connected to the valve seat 4 while inserted in an engaging cylinder part 61 of the plunger 6 facing a valve seat 4 side. A groove-like cutout is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the valve element 8. A fluid exhaust passage 8a opened between a caulking part 62 of the engaging cylinder part 61 and a surface to be separated from and connected to the valve seat 4 is formed from a close contact part between an end face of the plunger 6 and the valve element 8 by the groove-like cutout.
