RODENTICIDE BAIT SYSTEM

The rodenticide bait is in capsule form having a capsule shell formed from cellulose, hard gelatin or starch and in which the capsule contains a rodenticidal substance or combination of substances.The rodenticidal substance is preferably a multifeed rodenticide such as an anticoagulant or a calcium uptake enhancer. Preferred anticoagulants include indandione derivatives, such as chlorophacinone, diphacinone or pindone and coumarin derivatives, such as warfarin, difenacoum, coumachlor, brodifacoum, flocoumafen,bromadiolone or difethialone. Preferred calcium uptake enhancers include calciferol, ergocalciferol or other vitamin D analogues. The bait may contain a combination of two or more of the rodenticidal substances. The capsule shell may be formed from hard gelatin, soft gelatin or starch. In one embodiment the bait contains a rodent attractant. It may also contain a capsule contains a bio-availability enhancer such as a di- or tri- glyceride.
