PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color defective area correction method and the like for more easily and surely correcting a color defective area in various images captured under various photographing conditions.

SOLUTION: Image data including a color defective area wherein a red-eye phenomenon occurs, are read to extract a red-eye area (step S1). The extracted red-eye area includes a defective part with regard to a color defective area to be corrected. Processing specifying an area is newly performed for interpolating the defective part of the red-eye area (step S2). Furthermore, coincidence of the new area with the color defective area to be corrected is evaluated (step S3) and on the basis of a result of the evaluation, the specified area is deformed to be coincident with the color defective area to be corrected (step S4).
