<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventional methods for incinerating plastics, or the like, by burning them in an oven at high temperatures to convert into carbon dioxide and other oxides produces carbon dioxide to an unnecessary extent because a fuel must be burned at high temperatures to avoid possible occurrence of harmful gases due to incomplete burning and such high-temperature burning, together with incineration of an unused part of the fuel, leads to heating of surroundings, and to provide a method capable of oxidizing or decomposing organic materials with the minimal use of expensive equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises introducing an organic material into heated particles of a photo-catalyst to oxidize or decompose the material with the photo-catalyst activated by heating and oxygen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
